A view of cart #1. Close up of solar panel back, 2x4 support
member, declination staff and hinge. Note 12 guage wire coming out of plus
terminal, hence red color. Note split jacketing to organize wires. Note rubber
grommet inserted in hole. Note tie wrap to secure jacketting. Although i
purchased thesepanels in 1987, it was always myintention to use solar power. The
house I live in is a medium house. No Mcmansion nor hovel. Best described as one
floor ranch. 5 main rooms with 2 smaller rooms. Earth bermed basement. Attatched
under house 2 car garage. Attic sans crawl space. for December 2007 to January
2008 my electric bill was (!)909(!) american dollars! That was with a 3
kilowatt grid tied solar PV system on the roof. I wasnt warm with all that
juice. I had to wear a coat indoors. Thermometers idicated average indoor temps
of 65 degrees F. As the other 3 solar carts come on line, they will be powering
lights and appliances. A wood stove is going in the living room fireplace. Fire
places are totally useless for home heating. 80% of heat goes up the chimblee.
The fire cause a draft that draws in cold air from every chink and crack.
