A close up of the shadowside of solar cart.Notice declination staff. Notice PV panel load disconnect switch. Notice hinges for panel. Notice twisted 14 gauge wires coming out of panel instead of 12 guage wires. This is cart #2. Notice second battery mounted in PARALLEL. This doubles your amps but mantains 12 volts dc out put to inverter. It is amps which determine how long the inverter runs although volts are proprtional to runtime also.As the battery discharges voltage drops until cutout. Notice position of cart on level ground facing sun. Notice the position of 2x4's used as spacers and mounting surfaces. Always keep DC wires as short as possible to prevent transmission losses. Always use the lowest number guage practical, i.e. the biggest diameter. Cables to inverter recommended 2 guage. The parallel cables connecting batteries are 6 guage. The regulator came factory wired with16 guage I but used 12 guage or doubled up 14 guage for in and out connections to it.
