This view shows the caster locks clearly. However I must
again state the cart should only be on level ground. Unattended the cart may
roll down an incline or tip over. Why a cart? For portability. This allows easy
storage, such as ina garage or shed. It allows easy placement in a sunny patch.
Most home owners have trees or structures blocking the insolation. Tracking the
sun also adds 40% more insolation to the system. This system is manual as an
automatic tracking system on a pier or post would add substantially to the cost
of any soalr PV system. What i do is pop out every 30 minute or so and reface
the panels to be perpendicular to the insolation. I have a declination staff in
back of the panel to prop it up at the correct angle. This is the winter sostice
angle. I also have an equinox staff and a summer solstice staff. What these do
is lower the panel back downas the sun rises through the seasons. These
declination staffs' lengths depend on your location north or south of the
equator and the time of year. A road map will have your town's latitude on it. A
simple protactor can set the panel's angle and a ruler can measure the length
the staff's length. Hold the panel at minus 20 degrees and plus 20 degrees and
measure for the other two staffs. This doesnt have to be exact, just close. The
insolation will be much greater than any fixed roof mounted system. I calls em
the staff of Ra after Iowa smith and "raiders of the last cart".
